Duties and Responsibilities:      

  • Operate 329/330/336 excavators in a safe and efficient manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

Job Title:  CAD Technician 

Job Summary:  

The CAD Technician will perform a variety of duties related to the review and analysis of field and construction plan data, 3D surface modeling, plan quantity verifications as well as other survey functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:      

  • Working alongside other CAD team members, or independently, to generate accurate survey data for field crews and machine control systems.
  • Tracking project RFI’s, Change Orders, and Addendums while maintaining up to date field files.
  • Documenting all CAD and plan errors for RFI’s.
  • Utilizing current CAD platforms, plans, and common sense to create 3D surface models, calculate bridge structures, drainage runs, utilities etc.
  • Creating cut/fill reports and plotting exhibits for survey managers.
  • Tracking time spent on projects for budgeting purposes.
  • Creating roadway corridors.
  • Preparing drawing with high precisions and as per scale.
  • Creating and maintain project alignments, profiles, tie-ins etc.
  • Utilizing COGO and other survey methodology (bearings – distances) to generate usable survey points, maps, 3D surface models and 3D line work.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associates or technical school degree preferred.
  • MUST HAVE AutoCAD Civil 3D & Trimble Business Center experience
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a survey technician role with the ability to create and maintain 3D roadway models and calculate all aspects of a civil construction site including bridges, walls, drainage etc. required.
  • Survey experience in a crew chief type role is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans for generating field layout data.
  • Working knowledge of 3D surfaces, the ability run quantity reports and surface grade checks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and requirements of a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision is mandatory.
  • Accurately preform survey computations and mapping for roadway, drainage, utilities, bridges, walls and more.
  • Candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills, be a problem solver, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, and precise.
  • Ability to fully understand and follow highly complex oral and written instructions.
  • Familiar with files such as LandXML, .csv, .dwg, .dgn, .ttm, .dtm, .tin, .vce, .vcl, etc.
  • Knowledge of Bentley Microstation Inroads/Geopak Software.
  • Knowledge of Trimble Business Center software and Site Positioning equipment both GPS and robotic total stations.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual is a plus.

    Duties and Responsibilities:       

    Field Leadership

    • Ensure crews adhere to company safety protocols and project-specific work plans.

    Operational Excellence

    • Monitor equipment utilization and coordinate with equipment operations to ensure availability and maintenance of pavers, spreaders, tining machines, and finishing tools.

    Project Coordination

    • Participate in review sessions with related Field Supervision concerning labor, materials, equipment, subcontracts, cost, productivity, schedules, and tracking.
    • Facilitate project completion through coordinating efforts between appropriate Project Superintendents, Subcontractors, and the Client.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • BS degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
    • 5 + years as a Project Engineer or equivalent civil construction experience is required.
    • Related experience should be in the public roadway and private development sectors.

    Job Title:  Safety Manager – Bilingual

    Job Summary:  

    The Safety Manager will maintain a safety-driven culture at assigned project job site(s) and/or assigned organizational unit(s). He/she will plan, coordinate, and implement safety, health and environmental protection programs and practices in a construction and excavation environment. Responsible for monitoring and actively mitigating operational, safety, and environmental risks. Interacts with and uses third party insurance and medical care providers. May be assigned to either/both construction and/or mines.

    Duties and Responsibilities:      

    • Implement approved programs and promote loss prevention, complies with insurance procedures and safety/risk management policies.
    • Execute the organization’s safety training program, ensuring maximum use and efficiency of company resources and talent. Includes delivery, instruction, scheduling and/or conducting new employee orientations, partnering with external outsourced providers.
    • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
    • Recommend safety features that will reduce employees’ exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
    • Ensure the regular inspection of facilities, job sites, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
    • Champion the installation of safety devices on machinery, facilities, job sites and prescription and installation of Personal Protective Equipment.
    • Lead the proper investigation and case management of accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases to determine causes, install preventive measures, report metrics/trends, minimize company and employee losses.
    • Review plans and specifications for construction to determine safety requirements.
    • Report or review findings from investigations, facilities inspections, and environmental testing.
    • Interview employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace incidents.
    • Implement corrective actions. Track and close every incident in order to correct violations and risks to people, property, the public and the organization.
    • Must be able to rotate weekend on call schedule.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • 5+ years of experience in safety management of general industry and construction environments.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, required.
    • Working knowledge of MSHA regulations.
    • Strong leadership and proactive problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrate broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability to deal with safety issues.
    • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with proficiency in Excel.
    • Bilingual – English and Spanish, required.

    Preferred:

    • CDL.
    • BS in Safety Management or equivalent.

    Job Summary:  

    The Finish Blade operates or tends machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets, to excavate and load loose materials. Operates construction equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools.

    Duties and Responsibilities:      

    • Move levers, depress foot pedals, and turn dials to operate power machinery, such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders, dozers, graders, mining equipment, or backhoes.
    • Set up or inspect equipment prior to and after operation.
    • Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications.
    • Read and interpret construction plans and digging plans
    • Ensure operation of equipment within machine capabilities and limitations, and with efficient and safe procedures in many given applications.
    • Operate machinery to perform activities such as excavation, backfilling excavations, vibrating or breaking rock or concrete, or making roads.
    • Create and maintain inclines and ramps, and handle slides, mud, and pit cleanings and maintenance.
    • Lubricate, adjust, or repair machinery and replace parts, such as gears, bearings, or bucket teeth.
    • Move materials over short distances, such as around a construction site.
    • Measure and verify levels of rock or gravel, bases, or other excavated material.
    • Receive and execute written or oral instructions regarding material movement or excavation.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • 2 plus years of experience in equipment operations required.

    Job Title:  Utilities Division Manager

    Job Summary:

    The Utilities Division Manager is responsible for overseeing private, commercial, and state-funded heavy construction projects involving the installation and maintenance of underground utilities, such as water, sewer, storm drainage, and related infrastructure. This role ensures projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The manager provides leadership to the division, managing crews, subcontractors, and resources while fostering relationships with clients and regulatory agencies. The position also involves bidding, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with local and state regulations applicable to heavy construction projects. 

    Duties and Responsibilities:      

    • Effectively plan, schedule, and manage projects to meet customer’s needs and expectations.
    • Define and communicate roles, and responsibilities to utility division team members to ensure project completion in a safe manner, within budget, on schedule, and in conformance with the appropriate standards, specifications, and applicable requirements.
    • Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite.
    • Monitor all contractual commitments to ensure that all work is being performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings, and terms of the contract, that change orders and claims are processed in a timely manner.
    • Review invoices and applications for payment to assure accuracy.
    • Conduct meetings with client to provide project status updates which can include, but not limited to, projected crew work schedules, revisions to scope (change control form) and schedule.
    • Conduct internal company meetings to coordinate project administration, engineering, material availability, construction activity and resolve project problems.
    • Monitor the material delivery effort to assure proper material order are met regarding contract commitments.
    • Ensure the following documents are completed with proper review: project plans, permits, schedule, project status reports and any other applicable documentation.
    • Complete all items required to close out project and organize project post-job reviews to ensure that all documents are complete. Provide leadership and training to project personnel.
    • Monitor and manage utilization of assets including direct labor, fleet, tools and equipment.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
    • Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
    • Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
    • Thorough understanding of engineering and other construction drawings.
    • Works both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
    • Physical demands require the ability to endure frequent physical activity, work long days and handle outdoor elements including a variety of weather conditions.
    • 10+ years of experience in project management for construction as well as underground utilities, excavation, structure, and/or paving projects. Additional experience, including project scoping and estimating, cost and schedule control, construction management, team building, resource planning, procurement, and permitting.
    • Field experience in the construction and / supervision of pipelines, and underground utilities.

    The Pipe Layer is responsible for laying pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints.

    Duties and Responsibilities:      

    • Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
    • Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
    • Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
    • Cut pipes to required lengths.
    • Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems.
    • Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
    • Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools.

    • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
    • Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools. Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators.
